I loved your article. Like you, I'm fed up with it. It seems to get worse every year. I am an entertainer and I suffer through many gigs with freaking 52" screen over my head and those damn games on. I AM A FOOTBALL ATHEIST. I hate everything this game represents. Thanks for this article.

Nice post, Jeremy. I agree that artists should teach art! Writers should teach writing, too. Whenever possible, let real practitioners of an art teach people how they do it!

I've only ever come close to artistic drawing once. Just the once. In (of all places) a High School Art Class. I've tried many other times, and I've come to the realization that my sense of perspective does not translate well to my hand. And my hands are a bit shaky, anyway.

I just noticed that you have been blogging for a year and a half! The archives told me so. Congrats!

I married a military officer and moved across the country. I used to say, "From Oregon to North Carolina,it was as far as you could go to the other side without falling off." We arrived and Desert Shield Desert Storm happened and I was at home alone waiting for the safe return of my husband and all his friends. A few years later I was cast in to Kill a Mocking Bird (w/Ed Dennehey as Boo Radley). It renewed my spirit and helped me be a better military wife & mother. The playhouse was a blessing to many through the years.

BTW.. I noticed on the comment page, here, that the title says "Excerpt from". I believe that the double quotes you put in the title truncated the rest. I think you can use " (ampersand quot semi-colon) to represent double quotes.
